SOLD! 2002 Jaguar XK8 4.0 V8 Auto

For sale is a lovely 2002 Jaguar XK8 (X100), in Brooklands Green over Oatmeal, with low miles and low owners, excellent service history and... well, just look at it!
 
The XK8 comes with Jaguar's own AJ-V8 4.0 V8 petrol engine, mated to a ZF 5-speed automatic 'J-gate' gearbox. It is whisper-quiet at idle, yet sounds better and better with revs. It feels very good for its 290hp, but never raises its voice too much, which feels entirely appropriate. 
 
The ride is suitability Jaguar, benefiting from the 17-inch alloy wheels and ample tire sidewall. The damping is superbly judged and very few surface imperfections are allowed to penetrate the cabin. It's impressively quiet all round considering its age. A great grand tourer.
 
Inside, the ambience is exactly what you want from a Jag, having been specified with the 'Classic' trim option from the factory - lashings of wood and leather here, all in excellent shape. The dash wood still has a deep shine and lovely figuring. Everything works as it should, including the CD changer in the boot. There is some slight wear to the driver's side bolster, but that's it for wear and tear. 
 
This XK8 has had just 4 owners in its life so far, the first of which was Jaguar and the next 2 of which owned the car for 10 years each and lavished it with care during its 84,000 miles. There is a comprehensive service history here, with stamps in the original service booklet and multiple invoices for more recent spend. The MOT runs to August 2024, with no advisories on the most recent test.
 
I've always wanted to drive an XK8 and this one didn't disappoint - its a lovely thing with a hard to define character that makes it very alluring...
