SOLD! 1962 Rover P4 110 Manual Saloon

£3,995.00Price

Up for sale at North Devon Classic Cars is a 1962 Rover P4 110 saloon.

The 110 came to us as a non-runner, having been in long term storage after the illness of its then owner.

The car is now running, having had many new parts fitted by us, including fuel pump, fuel tank, brake master cylinder, a Lockheed brake servo, various brake distribution blocks and a rear wheel cylinder.

We have also given the car a full service, including oil, plugs and filters. It is now starting and running well around our yard, idles nicely (see video) and doesn’t smoke or consume too much oil.

Condition wise, outside the 110 is in good condition, having had a paint job at some point in its past. There is little corrosion to speak of on the panels (many are aluminium), but there is some pitting on the bonnet where something has been spilt on the paint. There is also some cracking to the paint on the bootlid.

The chromework again is in good condition, bar the front bumper which is pitted and probably in need of replacement or a recoat. The small chrome infill on the front edge of the rear wheel arch is missing on the driver’s side, but these are readily available.

The tyres are old, but serviceable, Hankooks, all holding air.

Inside, everything is present and correct, with seats in good condition, albeit with dry leather that could do with some feed, and a small rip on the front bench (underneath the armrest). Front seatbelts have been fitted to the car. The clock and radio are not working.

Underneath, the car is solid, with signs of previous welding to the chassis, which is of a good standard. There is some surface corrosion evident from sitting, but we have applied a coat of Lanoguard to prevent further deterioration. Underside pictures are available on request.

The car was last MOT’d in 2009 @ 35,101 miles and is now showing 35,167, reflecting the lack of use in recent years. There are some invoices for recent expenditure along with some MOTs, the current V5 and invoices for the work that we have done to the car.

In summary, this is a running & driving example of the desirable sports saloon that is the P4 110, which will require a sympathetic new owner to take it to the next level of usability and reliability, as well as any cosmetic improvements the new owner might like to make – although it is perfectly presentable as it is.

Any questions, please ask. Delivery can be arranged.
